Description

Decagonal ivory Tea Caddy with tortoiseshell edging, the top having a star motif of mother of pearl & gold pique dots. The front is decorated with a beautiful portrait of an 18th century Lady with a foal, surrounded with engraved gold mounts and a blank initial plaque. On the underside of the lid is an original old label reading: “finely painted miniature of a Lady, Ivory & Gold mounted 1780”. The tea caddy has two lids with bone handles.
