Superb Jaguar Classic Stable Decanter with chrome radiator grill and enamelled SS Jaguar badge.
The “Swallow Sidecar Company” started out making stylish sidecars for motorbikes. In 1932 they launched their own car, the SS1. In 1945 the company name changed to “Jaguar Cars Ltd” due to the use of the SS name by Nazi Germany.
These decanters were sold by Harrods of London and other high quality shops in the UK, in the 1960s.
The case is heavy chromium plated metal and surrounds a glass container. There is a slot in the casing at the rear allowing visibility of the contents with Baize cloth to the base. The finish is of a very high quality, like a Bentley it oozes quality.
The tiny SS Jaguar badge on the front looks truly authentic especially on the chrome casing.
On the base of this Jaguar radiator Decanter is a label which reads:
” Classic Stable Ltd. Worthing. Sussex. CSA 227. Registered Design Made in England.”
