Thomas Shotter Boys was a well-known English Watercolour painter and Lithographer in the 1800s and was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours. He lived and worked in Paris between 1825 and 1837. Boys began up as Lithographer where there was much demand for British engravers and whilst there took up watercolour painting. In 1842, he produced a desirable collection of 26 lithographs entitled “London, as it is” which was hugely popular, one of which is this print.
