Description
This impressive- serpentine-shaped Tea Caddy is adorned with triangular and diamond-shaped panels of Mother of Pearl and Abalone, and has an ornate vacant silver initial plate and matching escutcheon, standing on four turned Tagua nut feet.
Lifting the lid of the mother-of-pearl tea caddy reveals two matching Mother of Pearl and Abalone lids, with turned handles sitting atop two tea compartments. Each compartment still contains traces of its original foil lining. The foil-lined interior used on tea caddies helped to keep the tea fresh.
This lovely example comes complete with a working lock and a tasselled key.
