Description

Antique Palais royal Necessaire Etui Sewing box veneered satinwood with elaborate faceted stud work, mother of pearl initial plate and escutcheon, standing on four cut steel feet. The top of the box is adorned with the word “souvenir” and has a cut steel handle.

The interior of this palais royal etui has a removable tool tray fitted with various mother of pearl tools including thread snowflake winders, scissors, needle case, thimble with the famous Pansy, thread reels. Underneath this tray is a storage space which has a retailers label to the side.

The underside of the main lid has its original mirror plate framed with rope twist borders.

Complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
