Fabulous Palais Royal musical sewing box in the form of a grand piano, made of beautiful rich figured mahogany with a boxwood and harewood piano keys. The front of the grand piano has its original ornate gilt escuthcheon and stands on five turned wooden legs with gilded brass collars.

Opening the palais royal grand piano reveals its silk protecting pad and mirror plate. A shallow removable tray containing numerous mother of pearl sewing tools three of which have gold pansies inset, these are the Needle case, Thimble & Pricker, other tools comprise of; scissors, penknife, scent bottle, tambour hook, snow flake winder and two thread reels. Under the tray are a pair of steel winding clamps. Left of the tray is compartment with a removable silver embroidered pad which contains the musical box.

This Palais royal sewing box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key, and has its original winding key for the musical box which is in good working order.
