Description

Outstanding quality regency sewing box veneered in rich satinwood with kingwood bandings all round. The top has a flame satinwood oval panel which is segmented with further kingwood inlays and cresents of ebony. This wonderful sewing box also stands on ornate brass lion paw feet and has lion mask side handles.

The interior also has the wow factor, on opening the box you imediatley see that again no expense spared, with its blue ruched silk lid and removable tray which consists of a blue lined paper and unusual red leather lidded compartments which have two book neeedle cases, thimble holders and two sewing tool pads. The box also contains six turned Ivory spools, two further Ivory cotton reels by I & W Taylor, mother of pearl winder, thimbles, Ebony shuttle, tape measure, and various original silks.

This Antique sewing box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
