Clear with a strong amethyst tint. Signed with moulded relief “R Lalique” with smaller “FRANCE” in block capitals below the back legs.
These wonderful Car Mascots were made to sit on car radiator mounts as luxury ornaments in the 1920s by famous glassmaker René Jules Lalique, they were lit underneath by a bulb that would shine through the glass giving them a warm glow at night, the faster the car went the brighter the glow. Rene Lalique who started the company using his own name still creates fine glassware today.
