Imperial Russian Papier Mache box with the beautifully painted scene on the top depicting three horses pulling a “Troika” sleigh through a snow scene with a family and a tree. Which looks like a Christmas tree. The snow has a silver sheen to it.
The interior has a subtle red tint to the lacquer with the mark of “B.L. Vishnikov” on the underside of the lid with six honorary medals.

This beautiful Russian box comes with a fully working lock and a tasselled key. The key must be turned clockwise to unlock.
