Sterling Silver Capstan Inkwell with a white enamelled faced pocket watch by T & J Perry. 124 Regent Street. London W 1 with eight day motion. The capstan silver inkwell is by Birmingham silversmiths “Saunders & Shepherd” dated 1909.
The capstan clock inkwell comes complete with glass liner. The watch is wound by turning the winding crown, in a clockwise direction. The winding wheel is usually equipped with a ratcheting mechanism, so the watch only winds in one direction. Pulling up on the winding crown allows you to adjust the hands to set the time, remember to push the crown back otherwise the watch will not run.
