Art Deco Sterling Silver
From our Silver collection, we are pleased to offer this Silver Artillery Shell Condiment Set. The Shakers cast from Sterling Silver with removable lids modelled as a pair of artillery shells. Each shell is hallmarked Jones & Crompton, Birmingham, 1926.
Sterling Silver is an alloy composed by weight of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness (parts per thousand) of 925.
Artillery Shell are large calibre projectiles fired by artillery armoured fighting vehicles such as tanks.
Jones & Crompton established in 1899. Edward Samuel Jones & Hubert Crompton trading as Jones & Crompton, Spencer Street, Birmingham and then subsequently Harford Street, Birmingham.
