Description
Stylish Antique Silver-plated Snakeskin Hip Flask by Sheffield Silversmith Walker & Hall.
The Hip Flask presented here has a stylish silver-plated finish with a twist-secure lid fitted with a cork inside to create a good seal when closed. With its snakeskin cover and viewing windows on both sides, this classic Hip Flask is sure to be a favourite.
The neutral Snakeskin cover is a classic look that is timeless and can be styled for a variety of occasions, from a professional look to a night out. Additionally, the exotic style and unique patterns of snakeskin make it a great way to add a statement piece to any wardrobe. The glass viewing window on a hip flask allows you to see the contents of the flask. This will ensure that your flask is clean and will prevent you from overfilling it. Additionally, you can see how much liquor is left in the flask so you know when to refill it. There is the option to remove the silver-plated lowercase of the hip flask to use it as a cup to sip from.
The hip flask was traditionally used for holding hard liquor for consumption during social gatherings. In the 18th century, they were used to transport gunpowder, and in the mid-20th century, they were used to carry water in canteens by soldiers. The flask played an important role during the prohibition era of the 1920s. This was a period during which prohibition laws prohibited the production, distribution, and consumption of alcohol throughout the country. People carried flasks of whiskey and rum under their clothing for sharing and selling.
Hip Flasks are small and easily concealable, making them convenient for transporting and storing alcohol. Hip flasks represent the art of cool and covert imbibing, enabling people to discreetly carry their favourite liquor to events and gatherings away from their homes.
In 1845, George Walker and Henry Hall founded Sheffield Silversmiths Walker & Hall. They became famous for their electroplating, cutlery and silver products. Their work led to the creation of some of the most prominent symbols of success and national pride in New Zealand, such as the Bledisloe Cup. However, Walker & Hall remains a retail firm under the same name, having closed its doors in 1971.
