The lighter of spherical shape with a glass body, flaming top and upper wick shaped as a military grenade. The Lighter with internal wick that can be lit at the top allowing it to be used as a table lighter for several people and cut flat on the base for stability with a star cut design. The Sterling Silver and Glass Grenade Table Lighter is hallmarked to the side of the neck Sterling Silver by Synyer & Beddoes (Harry Synyer & Charles Joseph Beddoes), Birmingham and dated 1901.

Synyer & Beddoes (Harry Synyer & Charles Joseph Beddoes) were a Birmingham Silversmiths between 1896-1949. Their work shop was located on Vyse Street, Birmingham and their first mark was registered in June 1896. They made a range of smaller items and accessories such as Ashtrays, baskets, buckles, candlesticks, coffee pots and lighters.
