Description

Betjemanns Silver Plated Burr Walnut Tantalus with double strung boxwood lines to its beautifully shaped edge, has exquisite symmetrical floral and scrolling marquetry to the sides and interior of the wooden frame.

The tantalus has four very decorative silver plated strengtheners on each corner and under the swing arm a retailers plaque by “Batty & Son” Market Street, Manchester. The Tantalus features three superb diamond shaped cut glass decanters with faceted stoppers and star cut bases.

The Decanters can be removed by pressing the the lock mechanism down which will allow the carrying handle to be pivoted backwards. The carrying handle is stamped with the following: “Betjemanns Patent London 24345” “The Tantalus”
