Description

Antique bombe shaped tortoiseshell Sewing boxwith silver stringing and ivory facing, drawer handles and turned feet. The top of the box is decorated with beautifully engraved inlaid mother of pearl flowers. A striking contrast against the tortoiseshell.

The underside of the lid features a ruched silk velvet lining, with the main compartment of the box features three tortoiseshell lids with ivory handles, and a fitted tool tray with various mother of pearl and silver sewing tools.

This sewing box comes complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
