Description

Winsor & Newton antique paint box with brass escutcheon, flush fitting drawer handle and initial plate.

The interior features a removable wooden tray with twenty four paint blocks. Lifting this tray reveals storage space underneath.
The box contains further compartments for storing various paint brushes, tools and mixing bowls.

On the front edge of the open box is a brass pin which when removed allows the front drawer to be opened.

The underside of the lid features a gold tooled surface complete with elaborate makers label which reads:
WINSOR & NEWTON manufacturers, by appointment to her Majesty,
and to the T. R. H. The Prine and Princess of Wales
38 Rathbone Place London. The base of the interior also contains a gold tooled makers label which reads:
WINSOR & NEWTON 38 Rathbone Place London
