Description

Regency rosewood writing boxwith elaborate brass inlays to the top and front, including an initial plate engraved “A.Wilkie” and flush fitting campaign carry handles.

Opening the writing box reveals a black leather writing surface with gold tooling. The lower half of the writing slope can be lifted to access storage space. The top half lifts to reveal a removable beautifully dovetailed mahogany tray with a large storage space underneath. With this tray removed a hidden compartment can be accessed by pushing down on the right divider, a spring loaded cover reveals three drawers, perfect for for those secret hidden treasures.

The top of the regency writing slope features two lidded compartments, two original glass inkwells and pen tray.

This beautiful regency writing box comes complete with fully working lock and tasselled key.
