Description

Rene Lalique car mascot in the form of Swallow (Hirondelle) Model number #1143 with clear frosted finish. Markings on the base have been polished to accommodate the original chrome radiator mount complete with bulb and wires for illumination when attached to a car.

This fabulous Lalique swallow car mascot has had the base slightly adapted to fit the radiator mount and is fixed to a turned Walnut base. The Car mascot can be removed from the threaded mount.

These wonderful glass Lalique car mascots originally adorned many fabulous Prestigious Motor Cars in the 1930s such as Bentley & Rolls Royce, made as car hood ornaments that would light up in the night and glow, these were first introduced in the 1920’s by famous glass maker René Jules Lalique, who started a company using his own name, which still creates fine glassware today.
