Apothecary box / Medicine chest veneered in stunning Rosewood with brass corner supports for added strength, brass escutcheon, initial plate, flush fitting drawer and military carry handles. Contains original contents and has fantastic patination.

The interior of the box is lined in red velvet and contains sixteen bottles with their original contents and a glass mixing slab.

On the front edge of the open box is a removable brass pin which when removed allows access to the front drawer. The drawer contains several compartments with scales and weights and six more glass bottles.

The drawer has two sliding lid compartments which contain a glass mortar and pestle, measuring tube and other bottles housed in unique compartments.

This antique apothecary box comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
