Vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Jewellery and Watch Case
From our Jewellery Box collection, we are pleased to offer this vintage Louis Vuitton fitted monogram jewellery and watch case.
The jewellery case of elongated rectangular form is finished in the classic Louis Vuitton monogram canvas, reinforced with brass mounts, corner fittings and riveted construction throughout. It is fitted with the original leather mounted carrying handle, with all metalwork stamped by the manufacturer. The front is secured by the traditional Louis Vuitton brass lock, stamped LV, Louis Vuitton, Made in France, with the lock number engraved around the escutcheon.
The interior opens to reveal a well organised suede and velvet lined fitted interior with internal mirror. Two removable trays are present, each designed for practical storage. The upper tray incorporates a seven watch compartment with cushioned supports, allowing the watches to sit securely. This tray slides forwards and backwards and lifts out to access a second removable tray below, fitted with three compartments and parallel cufflink and ring bands. Beneath these is a further large open storage compartment forming the base of the case.
The interior retains the original Louis Vuitton maker’s label to the inside back of the lid, numbered 973185, confirming authenticity.
This Louis Vuitton jewellery and watch case dates to the second half of the twentieth century, circa 1975, and represents a high quality example of Louis Vuitton’s fitted luxury storage pieces from this period.
