Antique tea chest veneered in beautiful exotic Amboyna throughout.
Standing on four turned ebonised feet and large wooden ring handles and shaped mother of pearl escutcheon.

The interior of this antique tea chest contains two removable amboyna tea caddies with brass hinges. These flank a cut glass sugar bowl nestled in its own compartment.

Amboyna, also known as Andaman Padauk, Maiou or Narra grows in parts of East Asia (Malaysia, the Philippines and Borneo) and is often golden brown to red brown in colour with red grain.

This beautiful tea chest comes with a fully working lock and tasselled key.
