Antique writing box by Friedrich Ludwig Hausburg made of solid Mahogany with brass edging, ornate vacant initial plate on the top, escutcheon to the front and campaign-style flush-fitting carry handles on each side.

Opening the antique writing box reveals its original tooled navy blue leather writing surface. The lower half can be lifted to reveal large storage space and a cross ribbon backed lid. The top half can also be lifted to reveal another large storage space. However, this one has a secret! Removing the top right inkwell and pressing on the bottom right-hand wall of its compartment will cause a false wall to spring open. Revealing three hidden secret drawers!

This fabulous writing slope comes with a fully working Bramah lock, engraved with “J. Bramah 194 Piccadilly”. This sprung lock requires the key to be pressed into the lock whilst turning clockwise to unlock.
