From our Tea Caddy collection, we are delighted to offer this Satinwood Tea Caddy. The Caddy of square box form with a Satinwood exterior featuring dog tooth banding to the border of the lid and front, a teardrop bone escutcheon and two oval cartouches featuring floral inlays with blossoming flowers. When opened the Tea Caddy reveals a stationary lid with a turned bone handle. The Tea Caddy dates to the Georgian period during the reign of George III Circa 1790.


The Tea Caddy comes complete with a working lock and key.


Satinwood is found in India and Sri Lanka. It has a rich golden colour and an almost reflective sheen. Satinwood is traditionally used for high quality furniture.
