Description

Description

Antique Chinese lacquer tea chest standing on four lion pad feet, adorned with gold chinoiserie decorations on all side of its unique shape.

The chinese tea caddy interior features two removable paktong caddies, with engraved tops and lids, and secondary lids with bone handles which help keep the tea fresh.

Complete with a fully working lock and tasselled key. The key must be turned clockwise to unlock the tea chest.

A box such as this containing removable tea caddies is called a “Tea Chest” and not a tea caddy. A tea caddy has fixed compartments with removable lid or lids.
